Google Navigation on LG G Watch R
2:58 PMSo I keep reading that people have been really enjoying the navigation software on their wear devices, but I just can't seem to replicate their experience. I've seen people talking about the navigation screen staying on or turning on every time you get an update to your route, and even people having their watch vibrate on new instructions but... mine doesn't seem to do this at all?
When I start navigation, I'm given a google now card about the next instruction, which disappears after about 5 seconds as the watch dims. From that point onwards, all I can ever see is the tiny top of the google now card, in the always on dimmed display. My watch also does not vibrate upon receiving new directions.
Am I doing something wrong? All I wanted was to be able to glance at some navigational information on my watch (which I wear on my right hand, the hand that's always on the wheel), but the software just seems so unintuitive that it's actually easier for me to just glance at my phone docked by the gearstick. If I wanted to use the watch, I'd have to bring my left hand up to awkwardly press the button, then swipe up the card to get it to fill the screen... and 5 seconds later it would be gone again.
I know it sounds like a minor gripe - but I suppose what I'm asking is: is there some sort of setting I've missed? Is there a way to keep the screen on during navigation, or to enable my watch to vibrate on update?
Cheers!
