OnePlus is an OEM in it’s infancy, catapulted into the big leagues partly due to it’s pricing and partly due to it’s sweet (but short) partnership with CyanogenMod. Along the way, they faced numerous issues such as badly-met PR endeavors, hostility towards the invite-only system and more, but they plowed on, unfazed, and went on to report a million devices sold in 2014.

Facts and statistics like these liken OnePlus to the larger, more established OEMs, and as a result, enthusiasts are often quick to judge and condemn them, forgetting that no startup sails smoothly without a few hiccups on the road.
