Came up with some cool new uses for my smartwatch and thought I'd share.
1:46 PMHey everyone,
I've come up with some pretty cool new things to do with my smartwatch which I've implemented over the last few days, and thought you guys might like to read about them, and perhaps some would like to implement them, too. Anyway, the new tasks are:
When motion is detected on my outside security cameras at home while I am away, I now have a snapshot of the image displayed on my smartwatch with a vibration (and also stored in my phones memory as an MMS message). Now it's quick and easy to know if someone comes by while I'm away, even with my phone put away where I can't see it easily.
I implemented a voice to google voice (female voice) announcement over my home audio system. So, now, I can shake my watch, say, "announcement WHATEVER I WANT TO SAY", and the announcement is sent immediately over the home audio system. Works when I'm at home to call the kids downstairs to dinner, or if I'm away from home to tell everyone I'm running late, or whatever.
I can now open my garage doors from my watch. Using the BTMate.com bluetooth receivers connected to my garage doors has given me the ability to press buttons on my watch to open the doors. I use the AutoWear app with the 4 screen setting, and I use the left, center and right buttons for the garage doors. If I hold the left button, it opens the left garage door, hold the right button opens the right garage door, or holding the center button opens both garage doors.
Really enjoying my smartwatch. :)
