Some love for the gear live

7:26 AM

I guess you can call this a rant, but I'm loving the gear live. I got it back in July in the initially live play store sale. After a couple of months here's how I feel:

The bad

Getting the bad out of the way first, the charger is awful. Even after months I still fight with it at least once a week. This is my only complaint. On a smaller note visibility outside is pretty week, but I'm not out much and when I am I'm active and not thinking about time or my phone

Strap

I had a replacement leather wristband waiting and swapped it out right away. It is very comfortable and I really don't even think about it on my wrist and that's why I love it.

Battery

I can pretty easily get two ✌ days out of it, but since I don't sleep with it on, I still charge it every night and then don't ever worry about the battery. This is regardless of usage

Usage

I still primarily use it for a watch. Having notifications is great and something I've felt spoiled by. I haven't heard a ring tone in months. I have the z ultra so not having to pull that out of my pocket everytime I have a new text or email is great. Voice response is accurate 98% of the time. That 2% it's off though can be annoying. In short it's still a watch with some added convenience. Also the quick controls wear launcher adds is great. As I'm getting out of the car being able to quickly turn on the WiFi on my phone is just a second or two saved. And that's what I've adjusted to. It's not like I couldn't do any of this on my phone, but being able to do it as simply as twisting my wrist is much more natural.

Samsung

I personally feel that Samsung does make great devices and just fills it with bloat ware so I jumped on their first watch that was solely android. I love everything about the build, I think it's sleek (black leather band doesn't hurt). I know the 360 has been getting a lot of love here lately and I understand. After seeing it in person at best buy the round factor looks great and unique but I asked myself what else would it do for me? Aside from the amazing charger, there really wasn't much. The square design doesn't look that bad and Facer helps to add some style to the face.

I've had a great experience and can't wait to see what 2.0 has to offer
