Just like it used to be?

When sliding down it would make sure that the watch would just be a watch and no notifications would buzz or light it up. Now it seems tied into the phone's notifications and the only way to have the watch rest is either turn it off or theatre mode. Am I missing something?

I know a lot of people like the exact opposite, but when I'm at home or driving I like to mute the watch because I have my phone. I don't want my watch buzzing all night on the desk.

Suggestions? Outrage? Tears?
