Just so y'all know, the old method to force and update still works, at least for me. Basically you just make sure the Android Wear app on your phones is the latest one (check APKMirror), reset your watch, and delete the Android Wear app data. Then I reconnected the watch and boom, update. Let me know if it works for you guys!
